2022 CRB Webinar Series Begins June 7

The Citrus Research Board (CRB) is excited to announce the return of the CRB Webinar Series geared toward citrus growers and industry professionals. CRB will be holding four one-hour webinars scheduled for June 2022. Each webinar will highlight a specific CRB-funded research area and provide technical insight for growers.

Citrus Leprosis Disease and Summer/Fall IPM Practices

The series will kick-off on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, with Dr. Greg Douhan, Area Citrus Advisor for Cooperative Extension - Tulare County, providing an update to the industry. He will be followed by Dr. Sandipa Gautam, UC Cooperative Extension Area Citrus IPM Advisor at Lindcove Research & Extension Center. Dr. Gautam will cover Citrus Leprosis Disease and Summer/Fall IPM Practices.

Continuing Education Units: This webinar is approved for 1-hour of “Other” continuing education units from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR) and 1-hour of IPM from Certified Crop Advisers (CCA).

Citrus Clonal Protection Program - Upgrades and Improvements for the Production and Distribution of Clean Plant Units

On Tuesday, June 14, 2022, Ben Faber, Ph.D., Farm Advisor, Cooperative Extension - Ventura County, will be opening the webinar with a regional farm advisor update. He will be followed by Dr. Georgios Vidalakis, Director of Citrus Clonal Protection Program (CCPP), who will cover the preventive and multi-layered citrus disease management approaches with focus on the Citrus Clonal Protection Program.

On Tuesday, June 28, 2022, Cindy Fake, Horticulture and Small Farms Advisor, Cooperative Extension - Placer & Nevada Counties - will be opening the webinar with a regional farm advisor update. She will be followed by Dr. Mike Roose, Professor Emeritus of Genetics, UC Riverside, who will be discussing Citrus Rootstocks for California – Effects on Soil Adaptation, Water Use and Tree Vigor. Closing the webinar, Dr. Tracy Kahn, Givaudan Citrus Variety Collection Endowed Chair, UC Riverside, will cover new citrus varieties for California.
