Registered products for decay control (i.e., fungicides) and sanitizing fruit and equipment (i.e., sanitizers) will be direct outcomes that will become available to the citrus industry. These products will be available to service companies and packinghouses with the goal of establishing international MRLs to allow usage for all export markets. Without new products constantly being developed, the potential of stagnation and senescence of products available is inevitable through regulatory restrictions and cancellation as regulations are expanded to higher safety standards and stricter requirements. New active ingredients, formulated products, and their availability to service companies whose representatives can put them into usage is an essential part for maintaining the vitality of the postharvest citrus industry. Thus, this project has done just that over the last 25 years and will continue to provide these outcomes to the citrus industry.
