This work identifies one or multiple proteins with enzymatic activity specifically against Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus biofilms. These proteins are derived from native, California specific strains of CLas prophage and are already present in HLB+ citrus and citrus products. These antibiofilm enzymes can be integrated into existing control strategies and by eliminating the CLas biofilm matrix are expected to improve the efficacy of other existing and experimental CLas treatments.
